New Year, New Skills

New Year, New Skills

Happy New Year!

I hope you had a nice holiday season and New Year’s!

I don’t believe in New Year’s Resolutions, but I do believe in Themes (see this video by CGP for more context) and my first theme for 2022 is “Back to the roots”, which includes some more language-learning, reading but most importantly, MORE PERSONAL ART.

I realized that I didn’t make a lot of Personal Art in 2021, and I can’t share most of my contract/work art. This year I hope to change that by making more time for Personal Art.

As always, I’m always trying to improve my skills and so this year I’m going to be stepping into some light 3D work. Planning to learn some Blender as well as continue my MagicaVoxel works, maybe mixed composite work in 2D as well!

I’ve recently been thinking about Knights of Sidonia by Tsutomu Nihei a lot as you can see.

Nihei-san is known for his sprawling sci-fi cityscapes and dystopian stories and moods. If you’re not familiar with his works, I highly recommend checking them out!

I  plan to do more mecha-related works this year. Suggestions are always welcome!

As always, Thank you for your support and I wish you an amazing 2022 💜
