Happy Pride Month!! 🌈🏳️🌈 I had a very nice time last week at TaskForce’s “Health is Life” Creative Jam! Got introduced to some really cool folks and re-met some other cool humans!

One of the speakers at the event was Alok V Menon, and their talk really hit home for me, especially since both of us are from Kerala, and it’s had me reflecting quite a bit. There’s something profound about being physically present and actively woven into communities that goes beyond just showing up. It’s something I’ve always enjoyed but never really understood why.
Since moving to the US, I’ve had quite the struggle trying to keep up with all the things I do, while keeping in touch with my roots and where I came from, I’ve been using English as my primary language for so long that I started losing touch with my native language Malayalam and that’s been a sore spot for me every time I try to communicate with my parents. But lately, I’ve been doing my best to keep up and make sure I don’t forget my roots, even with my fickle memory.
We are shaped by every crack, every impression, and every moment, which in turn leaves its mark on us; a composite of all our life’s perforations and indentations, as Alok beautifully put it.
